Recommend me a watch - 2
Discussion
Had to give up motorbikes and just sold my last one. Want to console myself with something mechanical and thinking of a decent watch. But I know nothing about the many many brands there are and need some advice.
Budget is up to £10k. Watch needs to be a chronometer and waterproof. It also needs to be worth something to my son when I fall off the perch and he inherits. Bracelet rather than strap and if there is some gold in there, all the better.
In terms of design and just to give an indea of what I like, the one I have seen so far that appeals is the Rolex Yachmaster 2 with multi coloured dial but that is way outside the budget. Pity - my main hobby has long been yachting and I have my masters ticket.
Any ideas or does what I want not exist? Doesnt need to be new by the way.

Firstly I'd say if you are thinking you want a Rolex forget about walking into a highstreet dealer and buying one, it's not going to happen.
If you want to know the real prices for them look on Chrono24 or Watchfinder as two examples.
There will be lots of choice with your budget from a number of brands.
Edit- you can get a Yachtmaster on the grey market within your budget if you are happy with used, around £12500 would seem to get you the latest model

The problem with asking here is everybody will suggest their own favourite watches
So I'll start
http://www.regatta-yachttimers.com/brands/panerai/
Might be a bit out of your price range but there are plenty of cheaper options about
