Apple Watch - straps

I purposefully don't wear a smart watch as I like my mechanicals, but since I got the wife a Fitbit and the Apple Watch 3 she has loved it.

I've ordered her a 7 for Christmas this year and it comes with the silicone strap, which she doesn't like. For her 3 she uses a few other straps and some relatives have asked if what they can get her for Christmas and a couple of straps would be perfect.

Looking at the Apple store these look pretty pricey.

Does anyone have any recommendations on aftermarket straps for Apple watch straps? I'm thinking nylon and then a Milanese?

They absolutely arent the same at all - the material is very different - they are NOT fluoroelastomer and more often than not a very poor quality silicone.

I got some from Komo bands. Good price/quality.

Good point, but the OP specifically doesn’t want the fluoroelastomer strap.

For something like a mesh Milanese or a job lot of nato bands AliExpress is the way to go.

I've a fitbit Versa 3, and tried a lot of straps, as I did NOT like the one it came with. I'm really happy with the fitbit equivalent of these:

As they allow infinite adjustability with the velcro. They're also slightly elastic, and are completely comfortable. I've had mine a year, no issues. Also good for exercise; rinse it off after exercising, and it dries really quickly.
