I want to wear a 'woman's' watch!
Discussion
Hello!
Do any of you chaps wear a 'woman's' watch? There are watches that are obviously feminine but there are a few which are a woman's watch but only through description.
I love the look of this: Breitling CHRONOMAT AUTOMATIC 36
Stainless Steel - Mint Green

or

It's classed as a female watch but I think it should look great on a man, not too large, classic steel with a beautiful coloured dial and would suit the skinny, medium wrist.
I might go and see one!

36mm for me is too small, my preference is 40mm as a minimum. As I say, that’s my preference.
The mint green does look great though and I’d happily wear it if it were bigger.
Different as it’s not a watch, but when I was younger I always used to buy women’s trainers as they seemed to have a much better choice of colour.
I guess what I’m trying to say is if you like it, wear it. Do you think anybody will actually know it’s a ‘woman’s’ watch? Other than us of course as you’ve just told us

No issue at all in my opinion. In fact I think they are some of the nicest watches from Breitling I have seen. I prefer smaller watches and would now be max 40mm (42mm at a push if thin). I fancy a dress watch next and would only go 36mm as that is my opinion of what works well on my wrist and in the settings I would wear it. My dream would be a Vacheron Patrimony at 36mm which is marketed under the woman's section. It's only Marketing.
I also think the trend for smaller watches on men will continue

I'm surprised more brands don't follow the likes of Nomos. IIRC, they used to advertise watches as men's / women's / unisex, but looking at their website now it's just organized by product line with no mention of gender. The only concession I could see is that in the pictures, the ones that look like ladies watches (to me at least) had a lady wearing them. Just put your collections on the market for whoever fancies buying them.
Watch Dirty Harry (always on) or any other film from the 60s, 70s and you will see how large watches are a modern thing that appears to be more about marketing (seen from a far easier) rather than anything else.
The original Oyster perpetuals were 34mm I think and the modern Oyster perpetuals at that size still look great.
