The boxes

Hiya!
What are peoples perception of boxes?
For 2 of my watches the boxes were missing, which eventually dug into my head far enough. Had to head on to ebay for them.
Did find 2 decent ones for around 40euro each, very happy!

Then the all too familiar feeling of emptiness once they've arrived. "Ok then".

Unneccessary, if they're not even original to the individual watch? Or just another case of each to their own..

I have two Omega watches, one bought from an AD new with all papers box etc brand new.
One bought from Watchfinder 2hich came in one of their boxes not the original Omega box.

Doesn't bother me to be honest I have no original box for one of them. I find the boxes are unhelpfully large and as much as they look nice if you have a few watches they become a pain.

I have some other seikos etc as well and all my watches are stored in one watch box I bought off amazon. The original boxes are all in the loft now.

The purchase price is always reflected when buying with or without a box.
But so is the selling price.
And if your keeping the watch, the box ends up in a drawer?
So it really doesn't matter!

I had a new watch delivered today
The amount of packaging is ridiculous !
Must be half the size of a shoe box..
‘Have’ to keep it really, but i’d rather it was a quarter of the size

I think I must have some kind of condition!

I could happily have ALL my watches with no boxes.
I could (and do) have ALL my watches with their boxes.
But I couldn’t have a mix, so some with their boxes and some without. The thought of that makes me shiver.

Similarly, I’m really struggling with one of my watches because it doesn’t have a bracelet when all the others do. I wouldn’t wear it on the bracelet, but that’s not the point. I just know that one of my watches doesn’t have a bracelet and it makes me feel uneasy!

Watches really do bring out the weirdos…..
