When I started work well over 50 years ago I wanted a Navitimer but it was much too expensive. Instead I bought this Chronosport Computer graph by mailorder from the back pages of Motor Sport magazine. It worked well for many years but then started jamming when the stopwatch reached 1 minute, so it got put in a drawer for about 40 years. It still works but it would be nice to have it overhauled and fully functional again. I saw a very similar one for sale a couple of years ago and that seller said it had some sort of Valjoux movement.
I'm hoping someone has a suggestion about how to proceed and find a reliable repairer. I don't suppose it would be value for money but I still like it after all these years.
Thanks for any help.

Very cool watch. I think it would be well worth it, that watch has value. Bit of googling suggests Valjoux 7733.

I was very pleased with the service from https://thewatchbloke.co.uk/ - recommended to me on here.

That's way nicer than a Bling-awful Navitimer.

Joe Horner at Anglesea watches has a good reputation. He used to post here as 'Variomatic'.
People also speak well of Richard 'RiggaTheMighty', again a PHer.

Apart from that, the BHI have a list of qualified members who service and repair.

Thanks for the help with this. I have now sent it to TheWatchBloke, but because he's so busy I don't expect to see it again for several weeks. While I was in the Post Office sending it, a lady at the next window helpfully told me that there's no need to send a watch away, Timpsons at Sainsbury's can change the battery quite cheaply... rolleyes

Nice. I think he had my 6139 for about 4 months, maybe a little longer.

Just a quick update to close off this topic. TheWatchBloke did a fine job and the watch is fully working again. This is the only mechanical watch I have, but if I needed more work done I would happily go back to him.
