I have a Tudor Big Block, Rolex Datejust and JLC MC that need insuring, i don't have the original paperwork of any of them unfortunately.

Whos best to insure against theft? Household or specific?

Many thanks in advance

OP, check your household insurance limit. Mine is £15k so most watches covered anyway, even when on holiday.

I was thinking about this the other day, was given a couple of nice watches when my mums partner died but hand no original paperwork or receipts. Would I need to get them valued prior adding them to arouse insurance policy?

Op,

Just phone your current home insurers and see what the say. There’ll be options about level of cover, and probably questions to confirm any security. At least you’ll have some info then. Insurance is extremely specific to you and your risks, so there’s not much anyone here can advise as personal experiences probably won’t count for you. However, lol, a £25k watch insured inside and outside the home only costs me a few tenners extra each year, very rural Suffolk.

This. Specifically the valuables limit covered outside of the home, as that’s what’s key assuming you’re wearing them. smile

Might as well call your insurers, as they’ll be able to answer quickly. I’m with AXA, and have a 15k limit per item which covers me nicely.
