I've not used a watch warranty before, but my 2017 GMTII has started to have issue with it's power reserve.

Over the last couple of months the reserve has reduced to now nothing when the watch isn't worn.

Is it a case of taking it, along with the reg card, into my nearest AD and they send it away?

The AD I purchased from isn't my nearest so would prefer to avoid having to go back to them.

Thanks

Why not just telephone the retailer that you bought the watch from, and see what they say?

You could just take it straight to Rolex London and drop it off, I've done that before, it cuts out the middle man.

what is the date on the warranty?

They gave me some leeway with a warranty claim some years back but this was when the warranty was only 2y and I turned up at maybe 2y 2m or something like that. And that was after they had worked on the watch for poor time keeping about a year prior.

they agreed to a free movement only service and the watch has been fine in the 8/9 years since

Thanks, just discovered I'm only 20 mins from their service centre in Kent, so will do as you say and go straight there.

Dont know if you can take it directly there, but the one in the city you can.

Yes, you can walk in. They have a service desk/window on the left of the lobby.

You can admire the moat and "laser" security fence as you walk in.

I took my watch in under warranty, and was told that as it had been polished, it invalidated the warranty. The fact that has nothing to do with the mechanicals makes no sense.

It is a two year watch, I feel now that Rolex dealers are losing their minds.

I am a regular customer in the store as well.

Other watch manufacturers are available.

I polished my new car last weekend! Hope that’s not done in the warranty!? wobble

Seriously, that is unlikely to wash with trading standards or your credit card company (assuming you used a credit card for the purchase (to enjoy the additional consumer rights protection that gives you)). I’d be challenging Rolex over that. And I say this as a long time Rolex customer who has enjoyed fantastic service over the years.

Am I due a whoosh parrot here? Surely the power reserve will reduce to nothing when it Isn’t worn???

I think the OP is saying the power reserve is non-existent (as in the watch isn’t winding properly).
