After about 2.5 years of ownership, my SOH II has decided it's going to run about a minute to 2 minutes slow per day.

I first noticed about a week ago, every morning when I put on my watch, it'd be about 6 seconds behind. This was annoying as the watch is supposed to be COSC certified.

Over the last couple of days, it's gone downhill fast.

Does anyone have any idea what could have caused this? Is it just age, and it needs a service?

On a side note, I noticed when winding it this morning that every few turns, there's an ever so slightly louder click (than the quiet ones you hear generally when winding). I don't remember this happening before. It feels like something is slipping.

I received the watch as a gift. I think the warranty is 5 years but only if you have the water resistance checked every 2, which I haven't done, as I didn't know I had to. There might be some goodwill on offer as my FIL (who bought the watch) has purchased a lot from this particular AD.

Is there a chance it could be magnetism? Thinking about it, I left my watch in the car a few weeks back, in the door pocket, which is right next to a speaker.

Worth a try , these are cheap enough , the clicking noise worries me though

Certainly cheaper than a service.

The watch hasn't been subjected to any sort of harsh physical environment, so I'm not sure how anything could have broken in there. Weird. I'll try a degausser.

The compass app on my phone is definitely affected by the watch's presence. Not hugely, but it's there. It's also affected by the Amazon Echo Spot that I have been putting my watch next to at night recently, and this affects it quite a lot. Hopefully the demagnetiser goes some way towards helping. The watch is probably due a check-up anyway.
