Tthere are lots of threads on bronze watches from 2020 but little on how they look now.

Particularly interested in a CW Ombré as thinking about getting one but others as well.

Please state if you have enhanced the patina or if it has just occurred naturally etc.

Thanks!

Not had it that long but crown is starting to go green and dull. Few bits on side of case. Buckle is a lot worse. You can see green on the strap on right side.
All natural but only worn 3/4 times since bought in December.

This is from a few years ago. It looked like this after swimming in the sea day after day for a fortnight. I’ve since cleaned it up with lemon juice…

Couple years in. Originally had a few green spots, I gave it a soda bath to remove the worst of it a year ago..pretty decent , uniform oxidation now.

Don’t have one.

Do quite fancy a Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze 38mm though.

Thanks - was getting a bit nervous about the others even though they had been exposed to huge levels of salt vs my expected normal wear.

Looking at a version of this, visiting CW next week to have a proper look.

I posted my CW at its worst earlier in the thread. A bit of lemon juice and it comes back to nearly as good as new. The fun is in then watching it darken and age over the next few weeks. Salt water definitely affected it and gave it some weird effects but it cleaned up fine!

Bronze seems such a weird choice for a diver given the salt water reaction.

It changes colour in salt water, but doesn't really corrode. Stainless steel can..

The SS fittings on my boat don’t corrode, I think it’s probably a better choice of material for a dive watch than bronze.

Have to admit I've lusted after a Bronze CW or Tudor for a while now and after seeing the pics of a couple of years in I'm not so sure now. Think its put me right off tbh.

I think the charm of patina'd bronze is very difficult to get across in pictures. I had never considered one, thought it was too close to gold.
I went into the tudor boutique in Glasgow to buy a Pelagos 39, when I was trying it on they brought over 2 of the bronze bb58's for me to have a look, one patina, one new.
They lost themselves a sale that day as I couldn't decide.
Went back 2 weeks later for the bb58 bronze, no regrets.
