Not a fake though - homages only please!

Looking for ideas but too tight to pay top dollar for a brand name so looking for some inspiration please.

Something classic Omega or PP Calatrava ideally.

Thanks in advance.

Homage to some obscure Breguet.

I used to call my Orient Bambino (£80 s/h) my Poundland Calatrava. In-house movement, too.

This Hanowa was €50 and has a bit of an Aqua Terra feel to it, or maybe an older Geneve with the bigger bezel. Quite a nice thing.

Hello OP

You said about a classic Omega

This my Omega Admiralty

Otherwise known as a Dan Henry 1975

I have seen reviews that it is just a copy, however not really. The batons have grown to match more modern tastes whilst "homaging" the originals. The bezel nods towards modern manufacturing process whilst still being a steel bezel. No bling here on the bezel. The lugs and case are far more delicate than a watch fashioned for a PBD in the 2020's.

It is a classic Omega design, updated but still clean and functional. It is available in different sizes, movements and colourways and relatively inexpensive. If you were after a classic Omega watch that was dive orientated not dress orientated fill yer boots, I love mine.

These just arrived as a present for my mother and MiL.

They look frankly amazing and the spec is very good considering the price.

They look nice - just wish they did a simple silver dial rather than the colours offered.

From the left ...

Pagani Faux-Ranger – a different size, shape and finish from an actual Ranger. In fact, only the hands and dial are particularly close and even they are quite different from the original. So very much a vague homage rather than a clomage. I rather like this one.

Sanda $10 Tank – very similar to the original, in appearance at least. Bought so I could see if I like the size and basic layout. And I do. A lot. So a real Tank is definitely in my near future.

Escapement Time King Seiko pretender – I like the classic size (36mm) and the VH31 sweeping(ish) seconds hand.

I chose the Pagani and Escapement Time because I liked the look of them and only discovered they were copies of other designs afterwards. I have looked at buying a real Ranger but although it's immeasurably better made, it lacks the shine of the Pagani's high gloss dial and polished case, and I rather like those features. Feels a bit pathetic to admit that though.

Total cost for all three would be a gnat's over nz$200.

This is the only homage watch I have. My beater watch. I rarely wear it these days but put it back on its bracelet in the summer so I could use it in the sea and pool. I prefer the vintage vibes the leather strap brings though. I wouldn't know where to find a Mil Sub now or where to find the money to buy one wink

Looks like a Seiko modded to be a Nautilus homage to me?
