Shock Proof Omega

Just got my first Omega and wondering how resilient they are to shocks / jolts.
I go clay shooting and wondering if it would affect the watches workings being automatic? Only ever had quartz and with spending a few quid on this I don’t want to do it any harm.

Havent done shooting but I've played golf with mine without issue.

I was always unsure about golfing in mine but have done, the screen is scrunchable, I had an accident and knocked mine against a rock in Majorca once and got a minute gauge on it.

Also I'm sure plenty of drug dealers use the (likely stolen) watch with guns!

I’ve fired quite a few shotguns whilst wearing various Omega’s and never had any issues. You’ll be fine.

I wear either a 300M or an AT every day and I'm a caretaker/janitor odd job man. Nothing untoward has happened to either from hammering and drilling or mopping.

I wear a 30 year old Omega Speedmaster as my everyday watch and play golf / shoot clays without a concern.

Admittedly not the same watch, but I've used my Pelagos at work for pretty much everything for the last year. So shooting, running around, driving, fighting and smashing in doors etc and other than lots of marks, it's still +/-1 a day.

I'd imagine given the tech in the Omega surpasses that in my watch, it'll eat up a bit of shotgun shooting.

There's enough cool units wearing them to make me think it'll be ok...

What are they now?

I tend to use Hull Comp X, they’re £285 per 1,000 online.

Don’t worry most Omega Sports watches are very robust.

I shoot in mine all the times and it’s fine.

It didn’t like being used as an ankle bracelet and bashed across the floor by one of my young nephews through. That was the cost of a service to make it work properly again!

I happily wear my PO and Railmaster out shooting and so far they haven’t blinked. The human body does a good job of absorbing the recoil, so what gets transmitted to the watch, won’t be as bad as you think.

Now if you were to put the watch on the gun and shoot, then you’d run into problems sooner.
