Rolex fake / replica / homage. I’m intrigued

Hi all, thinking of buying a replica. Allegedly some are rather good. Anyone owning up to having one? I have a real Sub and Yachtmaster but don’t fancy wearing either on my travels this year as I’m visiting some potentially dodgy Rolex relieving areas.

I built a travel stter for when I’m abroad. Made from parts I had lying around from previous mods, does the job and won’t get me murdered.

I used to know someone who had a supply of iron on Lacoste crocodiles. He used to add them to cheap t & polo shirts.

Fake or replica watches are about as appealing as going to see a tribute band imo.

It’s the real thing or nothing at all for me, each to their own though.

I have to agree with the general consensus.

If the objective is not to be mugged, your potential mugger will not have a microscope and will not wait to check if the watch he's clocked on your wrist is real or not.

Yes, you won't lose as much financially, but that'll be scant relief if you're doubled up on the ground with some teeth missing.

Personally, I just wear an iWatch when out and about and keep the nice one for evenings.

It would be interesting to know the odds of "being mugged generally" compared to "being mugged specifically because you're wearing a Rolex". I'm not sure they're hugely different.
