Hi,

I'm looking at buying a watch from the above site. Watch is in Dubai.

As I understand, I'll have to pay 20% import VAT and 2% customs duty.

Watch is up for £2k.

Reasonable to offer £1600?

It depends what other similar watches are up for I guess, at the end of the day though the seller can only reject the offer if they don't like it.

I bought a watch from a seller based in Dubai airport last year through Chrono24. I made them an offer that was accepted without even a counter bid so made me feel I should have pushed a little harder but nonetheless the trade was very smooth and the watch arrived in a few days.

Basically, I would always bid them, the worst they can do is say no.

Yes, £1,600 is reasonable to offer. That’s 20% off asking.

Just remember: shipping, insurance, and any payment fees are extra.
And make sure they declare true value otherwise customs can hold or fine you.
