Channel watches ?

My wife fancies one of these for her 40th but i am a Rolex man and to me there is no better watch especially for a major gift which you expect to keep for life , has anyone got a Channel male or female and are they any good or just a fashion statement ?

It is a tough one h4rvy. When i see a watch i like i usually buy it (unless it is catastrophically expensive) as i am buying it because i like it. To me that is the most important thing, i would much rather have a watch on my wrist that i want as opposed to the 'best'.

I know of the J12 and at least that has the fact that it's ceramic going for it but beyond that I'm not particularly convinced by them.

I got one for the Mrs a couple of years back, and because of the Ceramic construction there's not a mark on it. It looks good, works perfectly and she likes it. She does have a Rolex Yachtmaster as well though.....
