Hello,

Can anyone tell me what watch James May is weraing when he was driving the Jag XK120? The closest one I could find was the Stowes Marine but I don't think its that?

Only the briefest of glances, but +1 on the IWC Portuguese...

I'd like to believe it's a Dornblüth 99.0. But more likely an IWC.

Correct - was an IWC Portuguese Chrono automatic. Couldn't tell if it was the blued hands version or not, but I suspect it was.

Should you fancy the look but find the price a bit rich its worth looking at the Poljot Journey.

I'm sure he sported a Planet Ocean not long ago, Clarkson seems to have a few decent watches too, whilst the midget favours the Submariner

Aren't Clarkson and May raving about Railmasters at the moment?

I think he bought himself a Franck Muller for (last) Christmas too.

Welcome indeed! The watch that James May dared Hammond to buy is a JLC Squadra though I noted he was wearing a Rolex on Sunday's show (might have been the new Deep Sea)

And for all you fact-fans out there, May's Portugese came from the now-defunct Blitz Watches! Having watched the Moon programme he presented on Sunday, surely he would have lusted after an Omega Speedmaster at some point?

It could have been a U-Boat. He's worn one occasionally in the past

And yet in the 1st of the "world according to Clarkson" books, he bangs on about what a waste of money posh watches are and wonders why us WISers need more than one watch!! Humble pie Mr Clarkson!!

OT. Mays moon program was epic!! My new dream wish is to go up in a U2 smile

Thanks for the quick reply. Very tasty watch indeed. I wear a Breitling Navitimer 50th edition. Had it for about 4 years and now on the look to add to the collection. I am after something that looks a bit different to the Navitimer, like an Emergency with a yellow face, but the IWC looks very cool.

p.s my girlfriend called me the biggest geek for posting this lastnight, wait till I tell her about the response tongue out
