So i currently wear a Tag Heuer F1, lovely watch, if a little bit small on the wrist now.

2 watches im currently considering are the Omega Planet Ocean, and the Tag Carrera.

Would be interested in hearing what experiences any hear has had with them?

Thanks,

I've got a Planet Ocean 45.5mm and even though I don't have the biggest wrists in the world think it wears exactly right. Keeps good time and is very resistant to being knocked around. Had some positive comments but most importantly it makes me smile when I check the time! Definitely worth trying on both sizes and probably best to get it on the bracelet as they are very expensive to buy seperately.

So what changed, did the watch shrink or your wrist grow bigger which makes the watch now look small . wink

I can talk about the PO 45.5mm, because that's what I'm wearing right now. I've had it for a couple of years.

Firstly, you must try one on, on the bracelet. It's a big watch, and it's a heavy watch - with all the links in, mine weighs about half a pound. The weight means that if you like to wear a watch with a bit of slack in the bracelet, you may not get on with a PO as the crown will hit the back of your hand with monotonous regularity.

There are three main variations - orange bezel and numerals, black bezel with orange numerals, and black bezel with white numerals. There are a couple of strap options (rubber and leather, orange and black) and the bracelet. I have an orange bezel and numerals and the stainless steel bracelet. Don't be put off by the press pictures - it really isn't as loud as that in real life. However, the orange straps are exactly as loud as that in real life, so, again, try it on.

I echo the advice to buy it on the bracelet. If you buy on the strap and change your mind, it will cost you over £400 to add an Omega bracelet. The bracelet is also of remarkable quality. It's easily as good as a Rolex Submariner bracelet, and the clasp is much better. This comes at a slight cost: it's not as adjustable - you can only add or remove links and half-links.

The quality of the dial and case is very good, and the unidirectional bezel has a very firm, positive click.

Being a chronometer, its timekeeping is tip-top.

One thing that isn't often mentioned is that the lume is absolutely first-rate. Bright and even, it stays readable all night long.

I'm very pleased with mine, and I think the only real downsides to the watch are that the bracelet and clasp are prone to collecting swirls and dings (although a tickle with the Garryflex sorts that out) and, as mentioned, it's very heavy.

Another 45.5 orange owner here. Whilst I do still really like it, I wish I'd gone for the black with white numerals as I think it's a more timeless look.

It also doesn't really fit under my shirt cuffs properly, so I need to be careful not to wear it when I've got a client meeting where I'm putting up prices for example, as it's a bit in your face.

Luckily it's not my every day watch; otherwise I'd have chopped it in by now, or at least swapped the bezel for a black one.

Having said all that, sometimes I look down and LOVE it, so I guess I haven't made things any clearer! biggrin

(Will also echo everything that's been said regarding the quality of the case, bracelet, time-keeping and weight)!

42mm PO Orange owner here and echo the above. Very solid, deffo buy it on the bracelet, lume is amazing and the orange isn't as noticeable and bling as you think it may be!

Having little six and a half inch wrists, I didnt even try on the 45.5mm version. When i took the 42 to the local watch shop to have links removed, he commented on how he hoped it would fit, as there was no more adjustment available in the bracelet! thats how small my wrist is.

I was a little underwelmed at first, as being used to wearing a Stowa Marine, the PO seemed to wear very small on my wrist, but having lived with it for a few weeks, I wouldnt want it to be any bigger!

You wont be disappointed by the PO thats for sure smile
