My year of watches - 2010
Discussion
It’s just about that time of year again to record the year’s buying, selling & plain old flipping. It’s been a bumper year too once I got going
January – Surprisingly no purchases
February

I’d wanted a 3717 for ages, but never quite bonded, so I sold it on in May to help build the Dornbluth fund

The O&W was great, but the mix of fonts on the dial annoyed me so off it went in April
March was a busy month

Sold with a few weeks. Thought it might scratch my Broadarrow PRS3 itch – I was wrong

This 1963 SM300 was not only older than me, it was just “too nice” for me & was sold on in May – See November for its replacement.
Then I grabbed a few bargain priced Seiko’s

Sold in October

Sold in April
April was also busy

Both these Sinn’s were sold in May – further sacrifices to the 99.1 fund.

Sold in June

Another “too nice” vintage Omega - Sold in October

Had to be patient to find an 18A – It’s a keeper
May was my record breaking month

Sold in July after I found a “Military” version.

I’d admired the SM500 from it’s launch, but once it was available on a bracelet I had to get one.

This is my 2nd 757 after being a complete muppet & selling the 1st one a few years ago

The PRS14 was a nice watch, but just didn’t cut it after an SM300, so it was sold in July

My second Omega Speedy BA lasted longer than the last, but was still gone by August

Whilst not an issued watch I much preferred this military dialled PD, hence selling the earlier acquisition.

June – Unbelievably NO purchases
Must have been recovering after May, but I guess Le Mans was a distraction too.
July & August – Summer hols saw me slacking in terms of numbers

Despite humming & hawing, the cyclops remains on the Exp II
September

The MB1.5 was a completely unexpected purchase. Having missed the boat, I jumped at the chance to snap up a NIB watch from an ATG Forum member who’d actually bought 2 of the 20 made, but decided 1 was enough.

The 99.1 arriving on the very last day of September represented the end of quite a long wait. Having been after one of these for years, early this year I gave up the hunt for a pre-owned piece & ordered a new one.
October – A minor Seikofest

This only lasted a few days - I should have waited for one with a bracelet.

November

Another longish hunt concludes

The more “wearable” replacement for my vintage SM300

Currently with STS
December - so far

I also sold these purchases from previous years

I can see me replacing both of these at some point

The Nautilus was just too big.
So there you have it. It's been a lot of fun. By far the majority of my buying & selling has been done via the Sales Corner on TZ-UK here and pretty well every deal has been silky smooth, conducted with fantastic people.
2011 has a lot to live up to.

Andy
Some great stuff there, I have similar tastes. The IWCs, Sinns, PD PO11s and Bremont Martin Baker all have the thumbs-up from me in particular.
(Contemplating Sinn 857UTC...)
Edit: Your watch photography is first-class. Good use of depth of field.

Beautiful watches.
If your married / have a partner, are they available for training my wife to let me buy lots of watches too ?
My wife gave up on me years ago. I used to be a complete rock climbing addict, now it's track-days (bike & car) + watches. If your married / have a partner, are they available for training my wife to let me buy lots of watches too ?

You are clearly a very ruthless man. There are a few there I couldn't get rid of.
