Xmas Day watch pics - trying out a few macro shots
Discussion
I treated myself to a new D90 with a macro extension tubes, so I thought that I would get some watches out of the collection and try to take a few photos.
The I thought I would post a few on here. I am torn between here and the Photography section
I haven't got a light box etc so I thought a snow covered table outside would provide a decent setting. F'ing cold though!

Not bad.
You can apparently get very close in with some tubes.
Yeah, I got the tube in a set with 1, 2 and 3 on the side (3 being the widest etc ) and you can unscrew each section. I think these were done with just 1 on (inc the width of the front & back plate ) as with all of them on one would struggle to get even a sub dial in shot and even then only 1/3 of it in focus. It was good at looking at condensation, maybe some insect / wildlife photography. Also I guess if you had a movement worth it like a dornbluth then getting really close up would work! You can apparently get very close in with some tubes.
