... all IMHO of coursesmile

After some of you guys gave me some excellant feedback on my thoughts on buying a U-Boat;) I've decided to wait for one 2nd hand, and instead look for something a bit different. I've been looking for a nice Omega Driver Chronostop for some time with no joy, but also being a fan of large watches I came across this, I love it!

1919 IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN Silver REGULATEUR - 58.00mm with crown.......

Your thoughts would be appreciated again guys, what sort of price would be a fair one to pay?

58mm?! Unless you're a professional arm wrestler then that'd just look ridiculous imo.

On the subject of oversized watches, and seeing as Pistonheads is a car forum, I laughed at this advert in Motorsport, it just confirmed to me what a knob you can look wearing a shiny suit with a giant watch self-consiously strapped to your arm! hehe

Every time I see one of these massive watches with a date wheel lost in the middle of dial, my teeth itch.

Excellent feedback too, he always has 5 - 10 pieces that I will follow and have a punt.
Chap called Wandolec in Ukraine? I'm suspicious about a lot of those pieces, e.g. there's a "1940s multi-coloured JLC" on there with a 53mm case! They would never have made a case of that size, period. Look like re-cased, remakes to me or perhaps simply fakes scratchchin

Damn, I knew I shouldn't have looked for the seller on e-bay ! Some really interesting pieces there, see very reasonably priced too. The Omega above is lovely, is it considered a 'cut and shut' watch by some or are these generally accepted as legit pieces ?

A few of the pieces look very similar to each other but with different manufacturers logos. Is this down to having the original movements in and remanufactured cases and faces etc ?

I really don't know much about these types of 'pocket watch to wrist watch' conversions, would like to know more as I could be very tempted.
