Which watch? (sorry!)
Discussion
Hello chaps, I've been lurking in this here watch forum for a few weeks now.
I'm looking at getting a watch. Sensible budget is £500-700 but I could stretch this a little for something extra nice. I've got reasonably dainty wrists so don't want anything too big. I'm happy to consider a used watch if there's a reliable source you can suggest.
I've already got a tatty Rotary Navitimer knock-off and an old Tissot Seastar but would like something a bit more serious than the former and a bit more reliable than the latter. I could see myself getting a nice Speedmaster chronograph one day but I don't think that time has come yet.
I like:
- Manual and automatic movements
- Chronographs
- Something which would suit either a bracelet or nice leather strap
- Something compatible with suits and scruffs and everything in between
I don't like:
- Huge watches
- Squareness or rectangleness
- Overt bling
For bonus points:
- Left handed
Here are a few which have caught my eye, but haven't found anything which ticks all the boxes yet.

Suggestions are welcomed!

Guinand & Sinn are the only left handed chronos that spring to mind (7750 based anyway) - - Manual and automatic movements
- Chronographs

You can order slight changes or modifications - if you wanted a brushed instead of polished case for example. Eu 999 on leather, which is about a hundred over budget, but that always happens...
Sinn (Guinand is owned by the original Herr Sinn) do a 'destro' 917 Rally (similar to Quinnys) which has a cream dial - http://www.selectism.com/news/2009/09/14/sinn-917-... , and an uncommon 'Military II' model that one of the chaps here has just bought.
Have you looked at Ball? www.ernestjones.co.uk and www.jurawatches.co.uk stock a large selection of them ... I'd suggest a Fireman or Engineer Master II Classic, although there are others in your price range.
Fireman: http://www.jurawatches.co.uk/Ball-Watch-Company/Fi...
EMII Classic: http://www.jurawatches.co.uk/Ball-Watch-Company/En...
The main selling point of Ball is their imaginative use of tritium tubes. The tubes themselves are filled with a radioactive gas that reacts to a coating on the inside of the tube. This reaction gives off a glow, which remains constant for 10-15 years. In essence, you'll be able to read your watch in the dark long after other watches with Super-Luminova have faded ...
Here is the EMII Classic I mentioned above at night:

Ball watches are also incredibly well made and offer some decent specifications for the cash! If you opt to purchase a second Ball watch in the future, then you've given yourself access to many watch related innuendos
