Valjoux 7750 screw in crown
Discussion
Dear All,
Is it common for the crowns of the above movement to sound/fee/ very dodgy when screwing/unscrewing them?
When you unscrew it, you can hear a clutch clicking; and when you screw it back in it doesn't feel right at all, like it's catching on something inside. There is some grinding and clicking and there is too much resistance.
I've been told that's just a spring behind the crown, and that, 'they all do that sir', but before I kick off, I just wanted to make sure that they don't actually all do it!
Cheers!

Cheers guys,
Watch is a Glycine Combat Chrono. It doesn't feel at all right to me, as none of the other watches I own with screw in crowns feel like this, whatever movement they've got. It just doesn't feel, 'right' at all. The crown itself works, winds mainspring, pulls out and sets time and date perfectly, but when screwing it down, or unscrewing it, it feels horrid

Sounds like the watch might have a tiny amount of grit/crap around the crown threads or shoulders?
If you have some blu tack you should unwind the crown and carefully clean around the threads and crown shoulders, you'll be amazed how much crap is picked up often invisible to the naked eye.

The crown on mine will unwind until it is fully unwound and begins to 'click' - If I turn the crown the other way it manually winds the movement and there is a resistance and some noise, but when I push the crown back in and turn to lock it down, it is smooth.
I've made this video for you to hear the noise mine makes - It's similar to yours, in that it's a Glycine with a 7750

I've not got a local Glycine owning mate, and the nearest AD is Jura
HUGE thanks Kris for taking the time to make a video for me! VERY much appreciated.
As I thought, mine sounds very different. Your's sounds nice and smooth when screwing in/out, complete opposite to mine.
Mine sounds very much like it's still engaged to the mechanism when being screwed down or out, and it sounds very unhappy about that fact!
