Hi all,

Took delivery of the 009 pictured in the 'Incoming' thread (page 49, can't post pic up now as I'm at work) and I've a q concerning the bracelet...

Firstly, it all looks fine, no marks or any signs of mis-treatment. Where one of the cupped end pieces matches up to the watch head one of them 'chinks' against the head itself and appears to be loose around the pin and case. I popped the pin out to find that the end piece is a shell as opposed to something solid and it appears that I might be able to bend the shell a little bit to stop the chinking...

Anyone had any experience with these?

Hi, I might be wrong, but im sure i read somewhere that the super oyster bracelet doesnt fit that well and needs a little modification.

You can bend the endpiece tabs on the underside but be careful you don't deform the endpiece's front side, Swiss army pliers are very handy at this job.

Cool, thanks guys thumbup I'll have a steady handed play with a pair of needle nosed pliers!

Must admit though, I didn't really expect that of a Seiko. I know that it's not exactly their top-of-the-range set-up but after being used to my (not much more expensive and still relatively cheap) Monster the bracelet and clasp don't really compare - the Monster's is so much better but maybe the trade off is the ease of sizing on the Oyster... Still, I like the style of the links and the head so I won't be flipping this one just yet biggrin

You should buy the super oyster which is much better built, those flimsy Seiko bracelets are crap imo BUT don't forget Seiko have been making the SKX007/009s for many many years the monster model is relatively new compared to the 007/009.

Will try to get this one good first, don't really want to spend any more money on it but we'll see how we go!

It may well be worth studying the links - the intermediate link by the end-piece may have been made slightly faulty and, therefore loose, thus it isn't applying enough pressure to keep the end-piece firmly in place.

That's normal, Oyster bracelets are cheap ste.

The biggest waste of £30 when I bought one to replace the rubber on 7002.

Speak for yourself. biggrin

You know I'm just teasing. It's possible that my finger strength is just as strong as yours given that I've been known to hang my body weight off 2-3 finger tips.
