I've got £150 burning a watch shaped hole in my pocket, but I know next to nothing about watches if I'm honest.

All I know is that I'd like it to have a bracelet fastening and for it to be analogue, other than that I am completely open to suggestions.

Cheers

Chris.

New or used?

Personally I'd go for a new Seiko Monster.

Sorry, I should have mentioned. I'm not that fussed, this is going to be myy first decent watch so I don't want to rule anything out.

Cheers ImDesigner that looks nice.

Edited because I am a muppet.

That doesnt represent good value. It was £26 for a day a few days ago.

Does the quality justify it's current price?

At £26 on my wrist I'd say yes.
I was wondering if it is the "Skoda" of the watch range?

Watch circa £150 = Seiko diver or G shock IMHO

Monster/007/009 = you wont be disappointed!

My preference would be the Monster, it feels like so much more watch for the money, but saying that, I have never owned a 007/9... whistle ...Yet hehe

Agree with most of what's been posted above.

J Springs is ok for £26.99, certainly not £70 and an auto Seiko from Creation is probably the way to go.

The monster is well made, has an auto movement, day, date (quick-set), diver's extension on the bracelet, and is an original design instead of being a 'homage'.

Gratuitous shot;

If anyone wants to sell a black monster then please do let me know, I've had a wtb on TZ for a couple of weeks now with no joy! Needed to complete my monster mod so I'm reluctant to buy new.

A pic of the diver extention on the Monster. A nice touch IMO

Not everyone's cup of tea but my watch was around that and I love it.

Casio G Shock "Giez" (yep it sounds like jizz) - solar atomic, reasonably smart and the resin strap means I can wear it surfing without having to wait for it to dry afterwards:

Prices vary wildly - I got lucky and got it new of teabay for just over £100 but I've seen it for up to £250!!

Poljot Buran? Russian made, hand-wound chronograph. I only have this photo of mine uploaded, which as been artificially aged. I could upload a normal photo if you're interested or you could have a look on ebay.

It's my most worn watch at the moment.
