Why don't more bracelets have screw adjustable links?

They just seem, well, easier.

I prefer my watches on bracelets, I can size them myself but for fear of scratching them I usually take them to my local jeweller. Now, to be fair my jeweller (who happens to be an Omega/Longines/Cartier AD cloud9) only charges me a quid or two but it's a bit of a pain.

What's wrong with screwed in links? I have had one watch with them and they were a doddle, felt very secure.

I like the Sinns bracelet screws as they are cap head allen screws and they even give you a tube of thread lock to use on assembly, good old German no messing engineering.
They are brilliantly over engineered aren't they smile Very comfortable too.

Maybe I just don't have expensive enough watches!

My Breitling has screwed links. They are a pain in the arse.

Screwed lugs often have problems of unscrewing themselves if not screwed in tightly enough and perhaps threadlocked for good measure, but I'd guess the main difference is the chasm in cost between making a pin and making a screw and complimentary tube.

Two of my braclet watches have screwed links, one of the cheapest I own and the most expensive (Seiko skx009 on an oyster and Sinn 757). Very easy to adjust both of them and, as already said, the Sinn feels incredibly well engineered, the tolorances feel super fine.

One other down side is that the screw heads can soon be gnarled up!
