Yay or nay?

I've decided that with a diver-heavy watch collecton, I need some variety. I don't have any real need for a dress watch (but not averse), but a 'sports watch' could fit the bill, and I like the look of the Lacroix Aikon.

Are they any good? If not, what else shouod I consider? For less money, I quite like the Meccaniche Veneziana Redentore too. smile

I have a Maurice Lacroix Jour et Nuit. I am not sure if it is still available.

I bought it 20 years ago and it's been flawless despite never having been serviced. I still love it and it gets a lot of attention.

Maurice Lacroix are very under-rated in my opinion.

My oldest watch is a Maurice Lacroix quartz. At least 25 years old. I've no idea the model, but still beautiful and impressively thin.

Has been "serviced", as a flat battery leaked. Otherwise flawless.

Sounds like a good bet then, thanks!

NB, I'm not looking for an investment. smile

Does anyone have experience of the Longines VHPs? It feels like anathema to consider a quartz watch for £1k+, but I like the look of the GMTs.

Maurice Lacroix are a under rated brand IMO.
I used to sell them in the late 90’s and won a watch through a sales incentive by them. (Raffle tickets per sale type set up)

I’ve not really worn it for years, but it has little resale value so it stays in the collection.

I have one incoming any day, will advise!

I went for the blue dial GMT on bracelet, got it for £981

Last quartz I bought lasted less than a week so could be for sale before NY wink

I'd stay well clear. They don't have a good reputation for delivery/customer service at all.

I intend to. It was really to describe the sort of look I'm after. smile

And now I've found the Formex Essence, which is COSC at around £1200 on a bracelet. That's impressive.

I tend to buy on bracelets, as it's always easier to buy aftermarket straps than to buy on a strap and find an aftermarket bracelet.

Good looking too, apart from its diameter which is 3-4mm too great.

There's a 39 too, but that's too small for me. It's not a dress watch. smile

If you're under 18 stone you don't need a 43mm watch.

I'm glad we have the arbiter on PH, because otherwise I wouldn't have known.

By the way, how many sugars do I have in my tea, and which way is up, again?

You clearly needed help. Happy to have obliged.

On the sugar question: Probably too many.
