watch strap query (what kind is it)

Hi all, I am looking for a new strap for my day to day watch but struggling, The lug width is only 16mm but the strap is 24mm as it has a cut-out/step. I'm not sure if this type of strap has a name or what I should be searching for. I don't really want to buy a 24mm strap and then have to cut it myself if I can help it and a 16mm would be far too narrow. I have looked on the Timex site and they don't sell a replacement. Anyone have any ideas? cheers

Personally I'd call that type of watch strap 'notched'.
