Rolex servicing up North

My other half has a late 90’s Airking. I’ve overwound it and felt something snap inside. Probably the main spring.

So it’ll need a service. Any recommendations? The closer to Manchester the better. I don’t think the age and calibre of watch warrants going to an official service centre. Perhaps and accredited one?

Unfortunately you pay Rolex Prices, whether Rolex Service centre/Rolex Accredited.

The only cheaper way is to find a watchmaker that knows how to work on Rolex but will be totally independent from Rolex.

Maybe call Rob Taylor at Rebecca's in Southport. They sell a lot of pre-owned Rolex so should be able to either take on the work or point you in the right direction.

Has anyone used https://luxurywatchrepairs.com/ for Rolex servicing? They seem to offer free insured postage (both ways) and a really quick turnaround.

Seems too good to be true, so I'm automatically suspicious lol.
