Me and a friend decided to buy each a decent watch for ourselves this christmas, we decided on a budget of £750. It has to be new, with a large (preferably circular) face and I like leather/rubber straps rather than metal. Any recommendations based on those rather loose parameters ?

Second hand ownership OK? If so, you can get a couple of nice watches for that price...

Look out for a Fortis or Sinn, can be found within your budget and are rarer than Tags, etc.

Also consider a Glycine - large, round faces on leather/rubber straps a-plenty and they're a lot of watch for the money.

The Jura Watches website gives a good overview and current UK list prices.

It has to be new, sorry, forgot to mention that. Love the look of the Glycine ones. Another parameter for you experts. It has to be water resistant to 300m + (I'm not a pro diver I just want the assurance) smile Thank you in advance

Do you have to spend all your money on one watch?

What about an Orsa Monstrum for about £200:

And a Stowa Seatime for €650:

The Oris TT1 and the last Limes Diver are both really nice, I would prefer it was one watch though
