I have a nice Seiko with a leather strap that is shaped to fit the case of the watch, it also has a nice deployment clasp. What can I do to make the leather last as long as possible? Leather food or something?

I'm guessing that if it dries and cracks in say ten years it may be difficult to find a replacement. I think this is the only model of Seiko with this style strap. A standard strap would not look right, because of the the shape of the lugs in relation to the pin.

Id buy a couple of spares now. Leather straps dont stay smart for long - nothing you can do about it as the sweat in your skin stains and rots the leather.

I did look at this but I cannot see the correct strap for sale on the web anywhere. I'm sure Seiko themselves have them, but they don't seem to supply parts to the public, I think I would have to send the watch to them and have a strap fitted.

I will email them and ask anyway.

I would use a good leather conditioner.
