Grr, finally got my Tag Kirium out of the drawer for a new battery a few months ago and now I've noticed the rubber strap has perished quite badly and has a number of splits in it. I've decided not to wear it in case the strap fails completely, and when I did a quick scout for a price, I found a new rubber one was £185! eek Bearing in mind that has a life expectancy of 5 yrs I'm not very pleased! Could go for a metal replacement instead but either way does anyone know a good place to buy from? Anyone on here sell them?

Thanks smile

Could it be worth contacting Tag and letting them know about the premature wear on the strap?, assuming the watch isn't older than 5 years? They may give you a discount?

failing that, there are loads of options for after market straps! I don't know what the current one looks like, so can't suggest any similar ones, but check out these sites:

www.Watchworx.co.uk
http://www.watch-band-center.com/shop-watchstrap.h...
www.watchobsession.co.uk I think that guy is a member here?
http://www.strapfactory.com/index.html
http://www.toshi-straps.co.uk/ For some hand made leather!

Whoops! Address fixed!

Havent been impressed with my heur (and one tag) straps...the leather hasnt lasted long at all.
All my heuers now have aftermarket perforated racing leather ones...last longer , significantly cheaper and IMHO better looking too- add the buckle from the genuine one to make it perfect.

I was also amazed how quickly my Tag leather strap broke - mine was a crocodile skin one for a Carrera with holes in it and cost a fortune to replace. I wasn't keen on getting a non-Tag replacement and ended up getting a pretty good deal on a similar strap from www.swisswatchesdirect.com.

You do know that Tag Heuer's involvement in making that strap began and ended with stamping their logo on it?

I understand why its nice to have the right name on the strap, but really in my opinion its not worth it. Practically no manufacture actually make their own straps, you can get better quality, cheaper elsewhere and assuming you get the sizing right changing the buckle over is a doddle.

Sorry rant over.

Branded replacement straps are a crazy waste of money.

Yes, I know you're right. I guess I was unlucky in that the alternatives I looked at were just such awful quality and I found myself drawn to the "Tag" straps. getmecoat

Where is a good place to buy non branded, good value, quality straps that do the watch justice?

Agreed. Hirsch manufacture straps for various brands, have a look at the hirsch range these are excellent quality.

The Frecnh strap manufacturer 'Camille Fournet' supply a lot of the elite manufacturers, these are absolutely top drawer. If you're looking for a Purple crocodile or an Amethyste Python, this is the place......

Dammit, none of those sites show a strap that will fit my watch. My watch looks like similar to this:

Grrr...

Unfortunately Bramley, the strap is a unique fitment to the Kirium, both at the watch and the clasp interface. I'm seeing my TAG AD this morning, I'll see if he has one at a sensible price....

Sorry Dave,

He had straps for TAG's that I'd forgotten existed, but nothing for the Kirium. I'm afraid it's a raping courtesy of LVMH.....

Thats ok get a strap that fits the width of the watch and then use a noching plier or knife to cut the shape.

Simples!
