What is the mark up on watches in the £1500 - £3000 bracket? A workmate got £100 knocked off a £1000 Tag in a local family run jewellers shop recently, I wondered if the likes of Chisholm Hunter and Goldsmiths were open to offers?

Very much down to the individual shop and the watch you're buying (forget it for the likes of SS Rolex for example).
I can usually get 15 to 20% from my local shop (but I've bought a few from them).

Haggled 12% off a Moonwatch in Goldsmiths a few weeks back.

Sales guy wouldn't go a penny below that, mind.

I usually get between 14% & 18% on my watches from High Street places that know me as a customer.

22% off my last TAG F1 a few months ago, out right sale as apposed to finance is always going to help, and a track record with the shop but if it's a stock item somewhere in that percentage range should be doable, especially if there is more than one stockist in the area.
