What are people's thoughts?

I'm keen to hear what people are thinking and whether many have been spotted out and about.

Haven't seen in live flesh but although I love the concept of it, just doesn't do anything for me. Have 2 Tudors already (ETA BBN and Ranger) both of which I adore, but this isn't hitting any spots.

I can see why people would like it however and it does seem like a proper tool watch, for me it's just missing a bit of class which all other Tudors have.

I'm a fan of Tudor, but I don't like the P01.

It has recently won the 'Challenge Watch' category at the 2019 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève awards, which is quite fitting, because that's exactly how I'd describe its looks - 'challenging'.

Whilst it's another raid on their own archives, I do applaud Tudor for producing something that looks a bit different to everything else out there.

I just don't think it looks very good.

Perhaps I'm also biased, because I like my watches on the smaller side, and the hefty bezel locking mechanism top & bottom on the P01 produces a very blocky-looking thing that I think I'd struggle to like on my wrist.

But then, I really didn't like the Black Bay Chronograph, and completely changed my opinion when I saw it in person, so I'll wait & see.

Not keen. It looks like something you'd get from Aliexpress.

A long long time ago when I was much younger, I used to have an Adidas watch which, strangely, drew a lot of positive comments.

Tudor appear to have made a very passable homage of that Adidas.

Never seen one in the flesh, but I really like it from the pictures.
I really like Tudor in pictures, but find that they disappoint in the flesh, not sure why. Well other than the stupid stupid stupid screw down pushers on the heritage chrono.
My local AD says they don’t know when they are going to get one frown let’s face it it’s not a watch to buy un tried on lol.

Not a massive fan but seeing watches in the flesh is something of a must.

I caught this article on the original prototype that the P01 is based on. Interesting read and quite an accurate yet modern take on the original.

Interesting to hear everyone's thoughts and commentary, thank you.

I was lucky enough to try new releases during an event after Basel 2019 for both Rolex & Tudor and really like the P01 then.

Fast-forward to Friday just gone when my AD asked if I was still interested: I hesitantly said yes, subject to trying it on.

It hasn't come off my wrist since Saturday. Not a second doubt about buying the watch and absolutely love it. It's a chunky piece, but I'm really enjoying how different it looks to other watches - the face on this watch is incredibly crisp with the black dial and the lume applied without any surround to it. It almost feels like it's got a bit of patina to it with the lume not being a brilliant white colour. I have always been indifferent to the snowflake hands but I've taken to them too.

Clearly a bit of a fan boy rant (!) - but really enjoying this as my first Tudor.

Definitely not in doubt! The BB 58 & GMT are very nicely executed.

I like to think of the P01 as an English Bull Terrier (I should probably come up with a car analogy); sure there are prettier things out there, but the different look is what makes them so great...

Isn’t that the sort of, whole point of the watch?

A Tudor fan, used to have a Black Bay Bronze and current owner of a Pelagos LHD.

Recently saw the PO1 for the first time in a Tudor pop up store on holiday and IMO the watch looks horrific. Sorry.

Kind of...

I have wanted to get a black bay since they were launched, but none of the colour ways work for me. This does!

I'm going to say yes... Are you referring to the metal piece that holds the start of the leather/rubber strap?

So long as you're not talking about the locking mechanism, which is part of the watch case, there is a spring bar built into the locking mechanism/case. However, it is incredibly narrow, so you'd have to have a very thin insertion point into the watch and then have it widen out immediately if you wanted the watch to look/wear properly.

I've tried taking a pic and uploading it; but the beta image uploader is having none of it.

I picked one up today. Never seen one before and I thought it was fantastic! Not for everyone but very quirky and a refreshing change
