Strap for a Rolex

My Dad has entrusted me with his Rolex, It has a jubilee strap, but I am not a real big fan of them to be honest, so I'm looking for something else which would still look pretty good but at the same time be a bit more understated, preferably non metal as well.

I really don't know where to begin, not too worried about cost, more about quality and how it looks. I do have fairly girly skinny wrists as well, if that helps. It also has a hardened plastic "glass" on it, which will need replacing, so any suggestions for that would be helpful.

Pics can be provided, but instead of custard it'll have to be a chicken oxo cube.

Will, as the last poster said, depends on what model it is - A rubber B won't look good on a Datejust!

I buy a lot of straps from https://ukwatchstrap.co.uk/ - A huge variety of styles, materials, sizes and prices.

What I like about their site is that I can hold my watches up to the screen and get a good idea of how the strap will look on the watch, which is often hard when buying online.

I quite often buy used watches and, like the OP, am not a huge fan of metal bracelets (I do have some, though), so I more often than not look for an alternative strap (usually leather in my case) for a watch.

It was a single-pass nylon strap, more commonly known as a Zulu, not a NATO double pass strap.

It's the one to fit the Sea Dweller 16600. Not sure whether it fits other Rolex's and which ones. Could likely find out on the Rubber B website?

What model is it? Jubilee bracelets were / are more in keeping with the datejusts and day/dates. Gmt came with a jubilee , sometimes. They are a nice bracelet.

It's a 1982 Oyster perpetual with a half gold Jubiliee bracelet.

I'm not a big fan of the strap and would prefer something a bit more understated, also it would make it a bit more personalised.

https://www.jean-rousseau.com/ very nice bespoke, proper croc straps. Get a new glass (acrylic, 'plexi') for it and, if gold dial, ask someone like David Duggan (5 min walk from there) for quote on something more subtle such as champagne or silver.

You will have a great watch that will last for years. You have to speculate to accumulate.

Lovely straps there, thanks for the link, I'll swap out the scratched plexi definitely. As for the dial, I won't be changing it as it has the Sultan of Omans' crest in red on it, so swapping the dial out wouldn't be on the cards

Stating the obvious, keep the old strap. And Sultan of Oman (Military?) face is rare and collectible and has memories for you. Rolex used to replace the glass for £12.00 while you waited! Duggan or one of the others might do it relatively quickly while strap is made. Service is much longer. About a month for the strap for for me last year.
