If I am not mistaken, sporting a tag Monaco in interview after qualifying today! Classy!

Yep RBR Honda sponsored by TAG.

I've noticed on all of Max's non RBR pics on his Instagram, if hes wearing a watch that isn't TAG he blurs them. One of them can be made out as a Submariner.

Funny you should say that as I noticed a few of the drivers today flouting gaudy watches in the interviews. I thought it looked dreadful.

They have to do it as part of being the team. Its like Beckham is a Tudor ambassador but quite often seen with Rolex on.

Roger Federer was the master of this. Watch his interviews and he would purposefully run his fingers through his hair with the hand his Rolex was on. The more he did it, the more he got paid.

I wondered if the watch companies would pay them to adjust their masks with their watch hand

His and Raikkonen’s hats..........I think there was a phase of wearing them with their ears inside too!! They are truly THE sttest shaped caps ever!

If he wanted to be classy he should be wearing a vintage Heuer piece - there are plenty of lovely motorsport related watches he could have worn.

Except he couldn’t because they wear what they are told to wear over race weekends!

IWC even embroider Big Pilots onto the outside of glove cuffs

Oh I dunno, the TH Monaco is an effortlessly classy thing. I’m not on board with all their offerings but that watch is beyond reproach.

I realise that. There's nothing classy about wearing something you're paid to wear - see Stewart & Rolex embroidered shirts.

I heard a story that Federer was initially sponsored but Maurice Lacroix and that Rolex decided that they would buy out his agreement with them , cost them a great deal of money apparently as in millions

Always a good bit of watch spotting over the F1 weekend even if many are just sponsored..

During the pre-quali stuff yesterday, Brundle was rocking a black RM of some type, and I belive Rosberg had a rull rose gold Rolex

The RM stuff baffles me. Seems their MO is being incredibly expensive for the sake of being incredibly expensive, whilst ignoring any semblance of taste or subtlety. Quintessential new money showoff tat.

Although what do I know...there are obviously plenty of people that enjoy having a quarter of a million quid Wurlitzer on their wrists.

They are amazingly complicated and functional time pieces! The new Nadal watch can withstand 10,000g for example
