What's with all the helicopters?

I've no idea where you are in the country, but there have been plenty of helicopters in and out of Ascot this week; they are full of horse racing/betting types behaving worse than squaddies on a wild night out.
I saw footage of a scrap at Ascot the other day! Young guy got absolutely pasted by another, slightly older looking guy! Beat the crap out of him until he was pulled away! Younger guy had a busted nose by the look of it. 
A cut over his eye as well. Bet he looked like a panda next day! This week has seen a massive uptick in helicopter traffic North/South over outer South London. Just the usual in and out flow to/from Battersea. The cause isn t obvious and I ve been curious so if anyone can explain it I d appreciate it!
Ascot doesn t really seem to answer it as the route wouldn t make obvious sense and the increase isn t something seen for other events.

The M3 is a helo corridor from Odiham and other SW bases into London, so that's why you get to see RN Wildcats, AAC Apache and RAF Chinooks following the route of the M3 to/from the London helo routes.
Crazy the number of choppers that go to the big horse races, either punters or the jockeys. A lot of them have JCKY call signs. I live in Cheshire on the low level route North towards Manchester/Liverpool and beyond and tracked several helicopters back to the Ascot area that came over here every day last week. The same happens when Cheltenham is on and the Grand National.
