ok sitting on a flight looking out of the window at 35000ft ....Question how far is the horizon in miles ??????

230 miles at 35,000 feet.

Height 35000 ft * 1.5 = 52500

Square root of 52500 = 229.13 miles.

If its day time and he can see the sun, 91,000,000ish miles

and if its night, and he can make out the Andromeda Galaxy 17,048,013,582,232.462(very)ish miles....

....and if he is on his tiptoes, probably a wee bit farther
