Aircraft containers are light for their size - they are made from fairly light gauge aluminium. If that one was empty it would easily have been sucked up by the engine.

Those containers can easily be blown by strong wind as well. Whenever it's windy at Heathrow, all companies working airside are told to secure loose equipment.
