Nice find. I'll try to get there before this weekend, hopefully they are not all gone.

eek Thanks

Hopefully there's a box left, that's over 20 quids worth.

I found Draak too cloying last time I had it, as tripels often are, but I've never had the quad or the rest.

Don't think I've tried any of those, I'd better get down to Lidl. I was working in Holland last year and am starting to get a bit low on the supply of St Bernadus 12 and Kasteel Donker I brought back.

They're definitely worth tracking down - I'm used to paying about £3-4 a bottle for most of those. Stupidly only bought one box when I saw this deal in my local Lidl and they've now sold out completely.

A couple of those have won various world beer awards (I think it was the Gulden Draak & variants.)

Selection of Belgian beer's is back at Lidl, sadly not the box of beer heaven we had before but a few much milder blonde and dubbel/dark ale at a reasonable 6.5%. In true Lidl fashion these work out at £1.25-£1.50 each compared to £2.50

Had a Corsendonk last night - not bad at all. Not as good as the previous box set, but a very nice drop for the price.

yes

Corsendonk is nice, as is the Gaulois blonde but i prefer a stronger tripel. Personally i think the Petrus is lovely and would be ideal for when i am in Ghent at the end of the month wanting to try something that doesn't get me pissed after a few bottles

Better Belgian beer out there but for what you pay its well worth grabbing a few of these

Nice find, i'll head down to my local lidl this week to see if they have any, are they in with the normal beers/ciders or with their weekly/monthly stock rotation items?

Really enjoyed the beer's in the box, Bornem's surprised me with how good they were.

They were in with the weekly food specials in the Harwich branch.

Van Steenberge (the brewer of the original box have won a bunch of world beer awards. They're not that easy to get hold of normally though unfortunately. I know of one shop in Felixstowe who stock most of theirs though.

French week in Lidl this week and picked up a few French abbey beers @ 6.5%-7%, very good for the price.

BUT more importantly in time for fathers day Lidl are going all out for Belgian beer fans, not only is the 'box' back but some other hard to get hold of beer's will be stocked. Good luck buying some of those anywhere else and the price per bottle is still stupidly cheap smile
