I've seen this advertised on Facebook etc. a few times lately:

https://www.taiwanbeer.co.uk/pages/about-us

Fancy trying it but they only ever seem to have the 24-pack box in stock and I don't know I want to buy that many in case it's grim. I like a lot of the Far Eastern stuff - Tsing Tao, Asahi, Kirin etc., anyone tried this and able to say how it stacks up beside those? Or better yet, anyone know where sells it in smaller quantities?

I’ve tried it a few times when I’ve been in Taiwan.
Can’t honestly remember much about it.
So it works just fine.

I’ve had it in Taiwan too. If you like Asian lagers you’ll like it. Seem to remember it being quite nice.

They’ve got a £20 off offer if you buy two crates: 48 cans for £52 with free delivery.

I’m tempted.

I had a good few in Taiwan, decent enough. Won’t be ‘rank’ as it just tastes like a lager, probably most like Tsingtao, so not hoppy or flowery to give you a rank taste.

My go to beer in Taiwan.

They do the “Gold” version and the regular (green label).

The gold is smoother and the connoisseurs choice smile.

Thanks all for the input - I'd expected total tumbleweed when I posted but PH delivers again. I ordered a case in the end, might just even be here in time for the weekend. Thinking about it now, another one I enjoyed (but haven't been able to get locally) is Inari Biru, another rice beer. Worth a shot if anyone sees it.

Hope you like it !
Worth looking out for Blue Girl from HK , a nice classic lager , run by the Jebsen Group who happen to be one of the world’s biggest Porsche franchise owners ....

Thanks for that, will have a look smile

Case of Taiwan Beer arrived shortly after lunchtime today, not bad going considering I ordered it less than 24 hours ago, I live in Scotland and the delivery was FOC - for most couriers that would be an extra cost or simply impossible... Added bonus was that the cans were already nice and cold from the trip, was very tempted to open one on arrival... biggrin

Not bad at all. Nicely rounded, maybe a tad sweet like Asahi is, very clean and easy to drink, too easy perhaps. We had a Chinese takeaway for dinner last night, as expected went very well with that. Not hugely special but definitely way better than the mainstream British lagers IMHO. It's probably treason for me to say this being that I'm Scottish but miles better than the likes of Tennents. At £36 for 24 (there's a £20 off the second box if you order two though) and free delivery it's pretty good value for a premium, imported lager. Going to try and find some of the other things recommended here (thanks again) but I'll definitely order this again.

👍🏼
I get the point about being a bit sweet but when drunk alongside a spicy meal in 35 degree heat it tastes just right ;-)
