Sorry hot sauce thread, I’m not after mind blowing heat, I’m looking for heat with taste.

Only one I’ve found I like is Cholula. While I’ll use Tabasco etc in a spag Bol, it’s too hot for how I usually have hot sauce, which is on cheese in sandwiches.

Any tips?

I like Aldi (Bramwells) Peri Peri. I think it's a similar heat.

I always have at least one bottle of Cholula on the go. And often a couple - both the original and the chipotle. Lovely stuff!

Also a big fan of Frank's hot sauce. Slightly less heat and a lot more flavour than Tabasco.

It's a pain in the arse to find, but the black label Valentina sauce is tasty.

Bottle says extra hot, but it's no hotter than a Jalapeño.. They also do a milder one, but haven't tried it.

Might be worth trying a mild sriracha as they have an interesting chilli/garlic taste and the regular one is not particularly hot.

Suspect most of us have a bottle of chohula in stock as it's got a great taste, even if for many lacking in kick.

If you want Valentina - get it from Mexgrocer - they even do it in litre bottles!

I bought a bottle of Cholula Sweet Habanero Hot Sauce in the US - the best Cholula IMHO.

Nearly finished it, sadly I can't find it in the UK.

I'm a big fan of this brand - https://www.sauceshop.co/

Have tried the original, buffalo and habanero, all gone down great in our house, especially when the BBQ has been on the go. I'd be slightly careful with the habanero one though!
