It's that time of year where I like to buy some of my clients a thank you gift. Most of them like single malt, so I'm looking for suggestions for Single Malts with a max budget of £50.

This is very yummy, and £35 is a bargain - it normally runs £50-£65

That's a good shout! especially price wise.

Yeah, I just snapped up a bottle, even though I suspect my wife's bought me some for Xmas! I finished the current bottle last week.

Not tried the Jura, it might be lovely, but I wouldn't give a gimmicky NAS whisky as a gift.

I'd stay clear of show off Peat and Sherry monsters too

Deanston 12 and Glenallachie 12 would be my recommendations. Decent strength bottlings, no chill filtration or colouring. First class cask treatment

IMO the Deanston is really special.

Try penderyn from wales if you want something a little different, sell it in our local Waitrose or online

Are there any of mankind's endeavour's which people are not prepared to be snobbish about?

Don’t know what the Deanston and Glenallachie are like, but it’s probably a fair point to keep it fairly generic for people whose tastes you don’t know.

I haven’t tried that Jura (just ordered some though) but none of the other Jura malts I have tried have been particularly challenging.

My personal favourite in that price range would be Clynelish 14, punches way above its weight and costs about £40.

For a very easy to drink whisky, Glenmorangie, or Glenmorangie Lasanta.

I would suggest you try that before you buy a bottle. I has some and it was like cat piss. There is something about them getting the waste from a local brewery but it doesn't have the correct stuff to make whisky so they have to add something before they distill. Whatever it tastes like a TVR factory roof without the glue.
It is 'different' I'll agree with that.

For the current price on Amazon you can’t go wrong with an Aberlour 12yr (£29) or the 14yr (£45).

Speyside so not peated with a smooth finish and easy drinking.

Balvennie the standard double wood is lovely : others I haven't tried. A classier choice for a gift.

I think it is difficult to make a recommendation as tastes vary massively, I would avoid anything too peaty or smokey. If you want someone a bit quirky but (in my opinion) a good drink, and very nicely packaged I recommend Nc'Nean - https://ncnean.com/collections/all-spirits/product...
