I made a Christmas cake last year for the first time ever and it was worth repeating - although I've left it a bit late this year.

I think the recipe was a PH one? I've tried a search, but, well, y'know.... Anyone remember such a post and can point me at it please?

Buy this book. Basic Christmas cake recipe sorted forever more. Change the frui/alcoholt to suit.

We made our cake about a month ago. Just had its first drizzle of brandy.

My wife makes a Creole Crimbo cake for the adults, and it is divine. I think there are about 5 types of alcohol in it. I’ll see if I can dig out the recipe.Turns out its good old Delia’s, just Google it.

Delia recipe is hard to beat. This page on her site gives you lots of options size wise.

Just made ours at the weekend. Mary Berry classic Christmas cake recipe. Wrap it up very weĺl and feed it with brandy every 2 or 3 days between now and Christmas.

Worth the effort;)
