Can’t find the search function, am sure this has been asked before.

I’ve tried a few different subs. Latest being the free(ish) offer from Tank that’s been marketed to me - not a huge fan tbh

People rave about Rave - is it worth it?

I’ve tried Origin, was Ok. Also 200 degrees was decent.

Prefer 250g bags so I can get one per fortnight, and South American beans

Drink mostly americanos plus the odd filter coffee

What have you got on sub and why?

I get 4 bags of Rave once a month, but I order it. I get the espresso lovers mix and a random bag to tip me into free delivery (make the 4th bag about £3, so I go wild)

It's great stuff and the mix set it fairly middle of the road, but they do do specials, so you can try new stuff.

They are just decent and reliable, recommended to a few people and they think the same.

Wogan Coffee from Bristol is good but I do try and use a guy called Kev Lewis who has a good youtube channel and has started his own subscription https://www.cworks.co.uk/

As it happens my monthly subscription from Wogan turned up today...................

It's just a single (500g bag) per month of their "monthly favourites" as it gives me something to try that maybe I wouldn't pick myself. I do use Rave and can recommend them as well - both companies freshly ground and prompt delivery.

I do rate Origin. Their loyalty scheme is good with regular returns.

Used these in the past for coffee. Very good stuff. I don't currently have a machine, that's the reason why I said 'in the past'

I’ve ended up finding myself on the rave coffee subscription and getting a 250g bag every couple of weeks.

I like their standard beans, I don’t like the beans that have hints of fruit like raspberry etc.

But at one bag every couple of weeks the postage cost adding 50% onto the cost doesn’t make sense to me.

I’m not keen on buying the bigger bags or multiple bags as the coffee may get stale.

Do people just take the postage cost on the chin, or are there better alternatives? I’d be happy to collect the beans but live nowhere near Cirencester!!

I order 4 bags at once, which gives free delivery. But I do go through a bag a week, so they don't sit around for long!

I can recommend Cannon (https://www.cannoncoffee.co.uk/) coffee. No personal connection (a guy on SELOC runs it IIRC and offers a discount to members); I've just had a cup of their Gunpowder blend and it's excellent. Not badly priced, either.

Used to subscribe to Cast Iron (the place Caffeine & Machine get their coffee from), which are good, but Cannon is just as good (if not better, actually) and cheaper.

James Hoffmann linked square mile is pretty good - have had a few espresso 1kg a month deals - still buy but alternate with other suppliers

I’m thinking of trying the lavazza super crema from Amazon. How bad can it be?

I've tried loads of different online places but the best so far has been coffeebeanshop.co.uk

They are more expensive than the others, perhaps for good reason.
