I really don't know why people have a problem with there being a correct way to do things.

Do people bh about black tie? Generally no they dress up and enjoy it.

Do people rip the piss out of people who serve gazpacho cold? No.

So why do people feel the need to denigrate the way to properly eat cheese?

Cut whichever piece of Brie one wishes; I'll be nosing some of the more superior English cheeses.
