I grew up in Ireland and these were the height of sofistication at the time, remember we were still eating spuds 3 times a day,you had to go to the chemist to buy Olive oil in little bottles back then ! How times have changed for us !

Me too in Ireland in late 60s early 70s. My Dad had a customer who gave him bundles of the Beef Curry Packs. Some years later the same Curries kept me and my room mate fed in the Cadet School in the Military College. We got into terrible trouble for cooking in the room and for supplementing the rations ! We are having a 40th Reunion at a posh Hotel in Galway soon and do you know I might just bring a pack or two along.

The vesta chow mein with the crispy noodles were always a fave of mine, had a vesta beef curry with a side of vesta rissotto a couple of evenings ago, and although they bore no resembalence to the meals they were trying to imitate they were very very tasty .

Oh yes - loved these when I was a student.

Paella on a posh night, or Chicken supreme and 12 cans of Carling for the rugby on a Saturday.

Never a fan of the chow mien though.

I might add one to the Ocado order for old times sake.

Vesta Beef Risotto was a friday night regular back in the early 90s. I used to love the 'beef' bits.
