I know its a bit early but I have started to try and decide what to sit at the centre piece of the Christmas dinner this year!

We are moving to a new house and have family coming over so want to make sure its a dinner to remember, I've done duck, goose, beef, turkey, guinea fowl and venison in the past. This year I wan tto do something a bit different so maybe thinking of a 3 bird roast or maybe fish of some sort.

What is everyone else planning and what has worked well in the past?

This year we are having a suckling pig, we normally have beef or goose but I fancied something a bit different!

We gave up roasting things for this particular meal some time ago, so now it's a seafood event: lobster always features, as do scallops, plus either oysters or prawns, typically.

Anyone ever had Peafowl? or know where it can be bought in the UK?

I just like to stick to Roast Turkey, Baked Limerick Ham and the trimmings, traditional and we only have it once per year, well maybe a second time, New Year or Easter Sunday.

It is eaten in other parts of the world, wondered if it could be bought in the UK
