Gutted to find out that their Pyramids have been discontinued As you can I'm no connoisseur of tea and just drink bagged breakfast tea. When they first came out I noticed a big difference over their square bags and have stuck with them since. I need to change so what's the PH cuppa of choice? Nothing fancy, not loose, and readily available

I recently went back to PG after a hiatus of a few years trying other teas.

Feel your pain with the loss of the pyramids but to my surprise I find the tea the best all rounder so am sticking with it for good now.

I note that PG Original came "a tight joint second" plus we don't use or have an Asda close or use them online.

Unless fact. The company that made the pyramid tea bag machine's is Molins Tobacco Machinery, I worked there at the time the machines were made and the project was called Magic.

It also really annoys me that they are called pyramid, because they are not a pyramid, a close look at them reveals them to be a traditional square tea bag, just assembled wrong with the top and bottom joints at 90 degrees to each other rather than parallel.

Only tea bag I found in normal supermarkets thats palatable without milk and sugar. I like my tea plain, this pretty refined, has decent flavours and a punch. Milk and sugar smothers it, so might has well go for a cheaper bag if that is how you take it. Thompsons in that case for me.

I did try these once from Rave because I get all my coffee from them. I wonder if they're re-branded Teapigs?

NGL, these and their Mao Feng Green tea bags were my gateway drug. I was fascinated to see real tea leaves unfurl inside the pyramid (as opposite to bits of stem, etc in cheap tea bags) and then started frequenting specialist loose tea shops and looking at goose neck kettles where you can set the ‘boil’ temperature.

But maybe you will hate them and be spared all that! Lol.
