Got a nice looking bit of ribeye steak for dinner tonight. Suggestions for what to go with it?

Get it out of the fridge now!

Otherwise, as little as possible- oil it, fry/griddle it on something hellishly hot, then salt, pepper, and rest under foil.

A bit of garlic butter if you must, but don't overpower the steak with raw garlic - chop the top off, then bake a whole bulb in foil with oil for 40 mins. Squash out the softened (now milder) cloves and allow to cool. Mix with butter, roll into a cylinder, clingfilm, and freezer. Chop a slice off when the time comes.

And, finally, chips.

yum

Fry it up then take it out to rest.

De-glaze the pan with cold water then get the remaining juices blinking hot and add brandy. WHOOSH. Once the brandy goes out add cream then reduce it a little.

superb

Guilty. And KerryGold garlic butter! But hey, this time last year it would've been supernoodles and coco pops or something! smile

Glad to hear it! thumbup

My own effort this evening (slow cooked lamb) was so poor that I binned it. Too late to really enjoy a delivery we shall remain hungry 'til tomorrow, when we'll pay someone more skillful to make us a fantastic lunch.
