Home Brew Kits

Thinking about brewing my own beer again I used to do it about 30 years ago and I would like to know any of your recommendations for a decent home brew kit for bitter and where to source it.

I made a few lots a couple of years ago with a Woodfords Wherry kit as it had won some award as the best home brew kit and it was recommended by a friend. It was ok, but it may have been me not being great as a beginner - I think I may have had unrealistically high expectations.
