As a rule I hate marmite, but I would definately take an exploratory bite of that.

You could also slice a small pocket in the side for some cheese which melts nicely while in the toaster...

Risk of melted cheese ooozing out and ruining my toaster is too great. I may toast a pair later and see what other concoctions I can come up with.

I can't believe I actually went in to the kitchen to do that. I should be in bed but I am delaying the inevitable return to work on tuesday.

My word, that was extra tasty with the Marmite and mustard added. See Pic:

Will try this at the weekend. Also, I like HP Sauce on toast and butter - could eat a loaf quite easilycloud9

Just so I can try this - are you buttering before topping? And which goes on first, the marmite or the mustard?

Ta smile

So the crumpet has cheese added before toasting, then spread with butter, Marmite and mustard?

Cheese is optional, but if you want it, cut a pocket in the crumpet with a serrated knife and place your cheese inside.

Once toasted, butter, marmite, mustard.

Eat.

NB - I am not responsible for your toaster spewing blue smoke all over your kitchen. Just make sure the slit is facing up and you'll be fine.
